Oron Shagrir is a professor of Philosophy and Cognitive Science, and currently the vice rector of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Jens Harbecke is an analytic philosopher of science and mind holding a professorship for Theoretical Philosophy Witten/Herdecke University, where he is member of department of economics and the department of psychology.

Vera is an analytic philosopher working on the metaphysics of causation and the metaphysics of properties.

She is visiting fellow at Rutgers University, Department of Philosophy, from October 2016 to September 2017.

Jan studied philosophy and German language and literature studies (BA 2013) and philosophy (MA 2015) in Cologne. He also studies Biology (BA) in Cologne since 2013. He obtained his Master under the guide of Prof. Andreas Hüttemann. In his Master's thesis he dealt with mechanistic explanations.

Now, he is working on his Ph.D. thesis in philosophy of neuroscience focusing questions of metaphysics of science. Based on a concept of descriptive metaphysics he explores whether our ontology contains constitutive relations or whether putative constitutive relations are analysable as causal relations.

Shahar studied Philosophy and Psychology in Jerusalem (BA, 2015), and is now an MA student in the Philosophy of Science program. Her thesis, written under the supervision of Prof. Oron Shagrir, deals with the nature of the relationship between computational and mechanistic descriptions in cognitive neuroscience.

Lotem is a PhD candidate in ELSC center for brain sciences. The research topic is computational models of decision making. She also has a master's degree in cognitive sciences with the supervision of Prof. Oron Shagrir. Her thesis concerns with mechanistic explanations, suggesting that they are functional analyses rather that causal explanations. She is continuing with research on this topic.
